Electronics experiments
The practical course on the fundamentals of electronics takes place in the 2nd and 3rd semesters.
The following experiments must be carried out:
- Bipolar transistors as switches and amplifiers
- Field-effect transistors
- Operational amplifiers – basic circuits

The bipolar transistor as a switch and amplifier
Experimental objectives
- Bipolar transistor as a switch
- Complete characteristic curve field of a bipolar transistor
- Knowledge of basic transistor switch circuits and their dimensioning
- Bipolar transistor as an amplifier
- Working within the characteristic curve region using the resistance line
- Sizing of simple analogue amplifier circuits
- Knowledge of operating point stabilisation
- Knowledge of dependencies and the determination of cut-off frequencies in amplifier circuits
- Basic knowledge of negative feedback
Field-effect transistor
Experimental objectives
- Characteristic curves and parameters of unipolar transistors
- Differences between enrichment and depletion types
- Working with characteristic curves of unipolar transistors
- Knowledge of the use of the FET as a variable resistor
- How a constant-current source works
- Design and analysis of an amplifier circuit using an SFET
Operational amplifiers – basic circuits
Experiments in Digital Circuit Design
The Digital Circuit Design practical takes place in the 4th semester.
The following three experiments must be completed:
- Counters – circuit design and TTL implementation
- Programmable circuits (FPGA) – circuit design, synthesis and implementation
- VHDL project – scrolling text on an LED matrix

Counter
PLD – Programmable Logic Device
Experimental objectives
- To deepen understanding of the design of synchronous automata and their implementation in a PLD
- To familiarise students with the architecture and programming of PLDs.
- Basic knowledge of the hardware description language VHDL
- Describing automata using hardware description languages and graphical tools; working with design systems for programmable logic circuits
Experiments in analogue circuit design
The practical course on analogue circuit design takes place in the 5th semester.
The following three experiments must be completed:
- active and passive filters
- Operational amplifiers – applications
- PSpice simulations (power amplifier, Hartley oscillator, Howland current source)
